RescueKnives are meant to go in
Sharp words formed perfectly
Cut from your tongue and teeth as
Closed on my impulse
I always reach for the lures
As you fish for my reaction
I am caught up in your hooks
By all your jagged edges
At the thought of falling grace
And grate my kindness away
Into scattered fragments while
To hoard disappearing time
With stings and barbs prepared
My distraction and are ready
To mock my rescue missions as
With all these broken words
If I want to save people
It is better to be a fire fighter
Because then I will know when
To save endangered love
Still LifeAs a child I studied
The lift of the arm
Above the head
The alignment of elbow and scalp
The set of the shoulders
As the arm lifted
Where the knees line up
The puzzle box bending
When folded against the chest
The legs crossed at the knee
Folded Indian position
Stretched out in front
I learned to trace
The movement of the spine
The neck and the skull
As they moved and shifted
I traced people on the page
Attempted to draw human
Like the image on the page
I imitate life
Try to draw it to myself
Holding myself just so
I stand next to humans

I imagined kissing your shoulder,
Well before I thought about your lips.
Because I don’t know what I am doing, firstly,
But more importantly,
It’s because I know things can spiral quickly,
If things start shifting
After we lay down the concrete.
So I kiss the foundation,
Before we reach the soil.
The second day I told you I loved you,
I imagined kissing your elbow,
Because it holds together the touch
And the flex.
To exhibit it,
I must kiss the joint that bends
And combines us together.
The third day I told you I loved you,
I lay my lips to your temples,
As I learned about the temple of reform,
For the Youth in North America.
Kissing you there signifying I will protect you,
As well as your temple,
As we re-form, into something more.
The fourth day I told you I loved you,
I’d kiss you softly on your forehead.
Because that’s what holds your brillian
